1.  My favorite place in the whole wide world is San Francisco.  If I were ever live in a big city - I would live there!

2.  My current favorite CD is "Mamma Mia".  It just makes me smile!!!

3.  I LOVE to read - anything.  I am currently reading "Sundays at Tiffany's".  I just finished "The Battle of the Labyrinth". 

4.  I hate birds.  I mean, truly to the core of my being, hate birds.  I think they are evil little creatures.  They are aware of my feelings and find it necessary to torture me.

5.  My favorite colors are yellow, purple and orange.

6.  I still wonder what it would be like to have a monkey as a pet.

First Day of School!!!

Today is Patrick & Wyatt's first day of school.  They were both soooo excited!!  Wyatt had EVERYONE up by 6:30am!  Wyatt is so excited to be in the third grade!!  I can't believe how much he has grown!  Patrick thought that not having to be to school until 10:30am was SWEET!  I noticed yesterday that he is almost as tall and I am.  (sigh)  The time goes so fast!!  Brenna doesn't start until next Tuesday but we get to go & meet her teacher this afternoon.  She and I still have some time to run away before then!!

We had our last BBQ of the summer yesterday!  Our friends the Joneses came for hamburgers & hot dogs.  We played "Dance, Dance Revolution", roasted s'mores and the kids played and played - it was a great night.  I can't believe the boys start school on Monday and Brenna (sob) the next Tuesday!  We thought we should have one last hurrah!  before they went back.  I am so thankful for great friends (who are just fun to be around - who we can be ourselves with).  I am thankful for kids who are so excited to start school.  I am so glad we are where we are!!!  I hope the school year is fabulous!!  What a great time!!

August was my turn to have book club.  It was a great night!!  We read Uglies by Scott Westerfield (great book).  We did have a great discussion about the book but mostly we laughed & laughed and talked about EVERYTHING!!!  Oh, and we ATE!!  ALOT!!  I love getting together with these awesome ladies.  There were 11 of us in all - Kerry, Kirstin, Kaziah, Jan, Alyn, Kari, Jami, Tracy, Deidre, Paige and me.  We were very loud (ask any of my kids) and stayed up very late (they left after midnight)!!  What an awesome husband I have - he took the kids to Lagoon until it closed then brought them home and put them to bed!!  Thanks Gaylen!!!  I had a great time - can't wait for next month!!

We love a parade!!!!!

Brenna was in the "Country Fair Days" parade over the weekend.  We all LOVE parades and it is a pretty good one.  Then, we went to the carnival after to watch Brenna dance, have hamburgers, listen to the "Battle of the Bands", play games, eat cotton candy, hang out with family and friends!!!  It was a great day!!

Wyatt & Brenna both had their faces painted.  Wy loves ANYTHING with a flag.  I am not quite sure what Brenna's was but she was happy with it!!!  
After all that, we watched the fireworks from our back porch - all in all, it was a great day!!!  One that makes you happy it is summertime!!!  

We were lucky enough to spend some time this weekend with Emilee, Aaron and their boys!  We had a super time!!  Thanks Emilee for suggesting it!!!
